Supporting

Special Needs

Our mission is to support children with special needs in their communities.

Helping give access to community areas for children with special needs is a tough task. We want ALL children to feel included in their communities, especially when it’s time to play! We aim to provide as much accessibility as possible, but we cannot achieve our goals alone. Find out how you can help.

Our Organization

Emberly’s Smiles is a non-profit organization started in memory of Emberly Reese Brazil, forever 7, who passed away in June of 2020. Emberly suffered with Rett Syndrome and was nonverbal. Her main way to communicate was with eye gaze and the use of a Tobi eyegaze machine. One thing Emberly LOVED was the park! She would tell you on her Tobi what she would like to do at the park- mostly go fast on the swings! Emberly was also in a wheelchair, so while the park was fun, what parks we could visit was limited, but her smiles were ENDLESS when she got there! Our goal is to enable other children with special needs to have accessible parks in their community- where they can feel included with everyone else. Through fundraising efforts, we will strive to improve parks and include activities for all types of abilities. We hope to spread more smiles just like Emberly’s- the happiness of playing!

THANK YOU to all our community sponsors for our first successful event!

We raised over $17,000!

We danced the night away, ate some yummy food, and had many silent auction baskets.

All proceeds to benefit communication boards in local parks.
